Privacy Policy (English)

This policy describes how JARNTEAM SoundBoard and the JARNTEAM License Store handle information when you sign in with Google, check a trial or license, or choose Google Drive backup and restore.

Information we process

• Google account data: Depending on the sign-in flow, we receive your email address and, where returned, your name and profile picture to identify your account and display trial or license status.
• Authentication data: The app sends a Google ID token to the License Server for server-side verification. The token is used to verify a request, not as your Google password.
• Trial, license, and device data: The service may process license status, activation and expiry dates, allowed device counts, device identifiers, and account identifiers. A hashed Google subject identifier is used to associate a trial with an account.
• Security data: The server may store a hash of an IP address and timestamps for failed attempts to rate-limit abuse.
• Website trial identifier: The website may create a random browser-specific identifier and store it in local storage to discourage restarting a trial by switching accounts in the same browser. The server stores only a peppered hash of this identifier, not the raw value. Clearing browser storage can remove it; it is a deterrent, not a tamper-proof identity check.
• Backups: If you enable Google Drive Sync, a SoundBoard backup can contain app settings, profiles, and audio files referenced by those profiles. The archive is placed in Google Drive's appDataFolder, a private app-specific storage area.
• Orders: If website checkout is enabled and you submit an order, the configured store backend may process information you provide, such as name, phone number, order details, and payment proof.

How we use information

We use information to authenticate accounts, manage trials and licenses, bind licenses to devices, back up and restore your SoundBoard data when requested, protect the service, provide support, and process orders where checkout is enabled.

Google Drive access and token storage

Google Drive Sync uses the appDataFolder scope for SoundBoard app data; it is not intended to read all files in your ordinary Google Drive. OAuth credentials for Sync are stored locally on Windows protected with Windows Data Protection API (DPAPI). ID tokens sent to the License Server are used for verification.

Storage, sharing, and retention

License and trial data may be processed by the License Server and its database hosting provider. Google provides sign-in and Drive services, and Netlify may host the public website. We do not sell personal information or Google user data. We retain records as needed to operate trials and licenses, maintain security, handle support, and meet legal requirements. Backup files may remain in Google Drive until deleted or handled following a request.

Your choices and security

You can stop using Sync or revoke the app's access in your Google Account's third-party connections settings. Revoking access may not automatically delete data already stored. Contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of information held by JARNTEAM. We use measures such as HTTPS where supported, server-side token verification, hashing of certain identifiers, and Windows DPAPI protection for locally stored Sync credentials. No method is completely secure.

Children and policy changes

SoundBoard is a general-purpose desktop application and is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children. We may update this policy when our features or data practices change and will publish the updated version at this URL.
